5/27/17 Wyoming
Last night we drove into Bighorn national forest and stayed at Middle fork Campground, which was a beautfiul little spot back in the woods next to a creek. We did pass a lady moose on the way in but unfortunately I didn't get a picture.
This was our view from our camper.
National forests are definitely the way to go. Dispersed camping is encouraged, or if you are as tired as we were last night and want something easy, campgrounds are everywhere and spread out so no crowds. The ranger told us you are allowed to hike anywhere even off trail.
We were going to do a little hike near our camp but realize we need snow shoes for the hike. So instead we hung out and relaxed for the morning since there was not a soul around.
Driving along route 16 through the bighorn national forest towards Yellowstone and Tetons had some amazing views.
Went through some cool tunnels
Stopped at Cody, WY. Got some cool hats. Spent the afternoon doing some grocery shopping and errands. Then headed towards Yellowstone.
Wyoming is rapidly becoming my favorite state. It's so pretty everywhere that I don't know which way to point my camera.
Found a nice campspot in Shoshone national forest right outside of Yellowstone.
Actually got to a campsite early enough to make a fire and roast our dinner and dessert.
Ahhh absolutely gorgeous!!! Really ready to go back to Wyoming now!!!! Are you taking all these pics on your phone? Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteYep!! These aren't even my camera pics! I didn't remember Wyoming as much for some reason, but I LOVE it here
DeleteAwesome can't wait to see your camera pics! East of Yellowstone was where we did the backpacking trip - Bridger Teton National Forest I think it was. Wind River Range. Enjoyed that more then the Yellowstone area! National Forest is def the way to go
