6/12/17 Washington, Oregon

Hello Oregon!

Most of today was spent driving.

At the end of the afternoon we drove up Mt Hood. Unfortunately it was a rainy, dreary day so we could see nothing. It was 36 degrees but felt like 28 with wind.

We then drove into Mt Hood national forest and stopped at little crater lake. It was an easy, pretty walk back in through a meadow.

The little lake wasn't nearly as blue as what we've seen in pictures. It was a cloudy dreary day and I'm not sure how that plays an effect on the coloring. It was still really clear though and prettier than the pictures show it as. Tomorrow we do the real crater lake and am hoping that's a different story.

We stayed within the national forest. It's a really nice forest, no mountains and no brush, so it was really easy to find a dispersed campsite tucked back in between the trees.
