6/21-6/22 New Mexico
Drove through New Mexico. Stopped by a river for Maya to swim. It's pretty hot out. Still no AC in the truck.
Found a nice dispersed campsite in Santa Fe National Forest. It was a nice spot but the road in made the Redwood roads look nice.
It had a nice little creek running along the side.
Drove through Santa Fe in the morning. Then drove towards white sands national monument. It was pretty cool, big white sand dunes. It was hot out but the sand wasn't too hot to walk around on.
Kyle got to do some snowboarding. There was a bunch of kids out on sleds.
Then we found an awesome dispersed campsite in Lincoln National Forest. The forest is only 30 min from the white sands but is about 20 degrees cooler. There was a little lake below us and we watched a family of elk splashing in the water. The kids were playing and chasing Each other.
The white sands place looks so cool!!! Looks like a fun place to run a UTV or something!!
ReplyDeleteAnother addition to my bucket list - white sands. Love the pic of Kyle boarding ! That is creative snowboarding and thinking outside of the box.....and playing inside the sandbox.
