6/9-6/10 Olympic National Park/Forest

Spent the morning driving into Port Angeles checking out the harbor and looked across at Canada. It was Kyle's first time seeing Canada. I asked if he wanted a pic in front of it and he said, "No. I'm an American." 🙄

Ate some amazing beef brisket at Coyote BBQ.

Then drove into Hurricane Ridge, Olympic National Park.

Unfortunately we were buried in a giant cloud and we weren't really able to see the Olympic mountains, or anything at all. But that's Washington for you.

It even started to snow while we were up there

Drove into Olympic National Forest and found a dispersed campspot just past Sol Duc Road.

I was lucky enough to have about 5 min of service at the end of day and heard the amazing news of the birth of Kelsie and Lathan Smoker. Can't wait to meet these two!

We saw a cool trail going out from our dispersed campspot so we wanted to check it out. Thought we were doing a little morning hike trough the woods, turns out it was a 13 mile trail rated difficult that takes you across the top of the mountain. It was a climb but well worth it! We passed one person total on the trail, and that's what we love about the national forest vs park. Trail was called Mt Mueller loop.

It started and ended through a bright green, mossy rainforest.

At the top we crossed the mountain through the misty woods.

And wondered out to the tip along a windy ridge

On a clear day you would have an amazing view of the Olympic Mountains. But again, this is Washington. We were just happy not to be rained on.

We stayed at the same campspot. By the time we got back in the afternoon we were ready to crash for the night.
